We serve clients throughout Westchester, Putnam, Dutchess, and Fairfield counties and operate a fleet of heavy equipment and trucks essential to our land development and materials production operations.

Position Summary:
We’re looking for a reliable, knowledgeable, and hands-on Shop Foreman / Lead Mechanic to take charge of the daily operations of our maintenance shop. The right candidate will oversee all maintenance and repairs of our equipment fleet—including skidders, loaders, grinders, excavators, trailers, and Class A/B trucks and lead a small crew of shop hands.

Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose, repair, and maintain heavy equipment and trucks.

  • Schedule and prioritize preventative maintenance and repairs.

  • Supervise and mentor shop mechanics.

  • Maintain accurate records of service, inspections, and parts usage.

  • Manage inventory of tools, fluids, and parts.

  • Ensure DOT and company safety compliance at all times.

  • Coordinate with field crews and dispatch on equipment needs and repairs.

  • Communicate effectively with ownership and operations managers.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with diesel equipment and heavy machinery.

  • Prior experience in a foreman, lead mechanic, or fleet maintenance role.

  • Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills especially in hydraulics and electrical.

  • Ability to read schematics and use diagnostic software is a plus

  • Valid driver’s license (CDL preferred but not required).

  • Welding/fabrication experience a plus.

  • Must be reliable, organized, and take pride in quality work.

  • Spanish speaking a plus but not required.
