Position Overview

Tremson is looking for a skilled Heavy Equipment Operator with experience in forestry and land clearing operations. This position will involve running a variety of machines in active clearing environments and working as part of a production-focused crew.

  • Excavators (grapples, clearing, stump removal)

  • Skidders

  • Wheel loaders

  • Forestry mulchers

  • Fellerbunchers

  • Grinders

Responsibilities

  • Operate heavy equipment safely and efficiently in land clearing environments

  • Perform tree removal, processing, and material handling

  • Assist with stump removal, site prep, and cleanup operations

  • Work closely with foreman and crew to maintain production pace

  • Perform daily equipment inspections and basic maintenance

  • Maintain clean and organized work areas on job sites

Qualifications

  • Minimum experience of 5 years in heavy equipment operation

  • Experience operating heavy equipment in forestry, land clearing, or similar work

  • Strong understanding of job site safety and equipment operation

  • Ability to work in changing site conditions (woods, mud, uneven terrain)

  • Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work as part of a team

  • Mechanical awareness and ability to execute basic maintenance on machine

Preferred (Not Required)

  • Class A CDL

  • Experience with forestry-specific equipment (feller buncher, skidder, excavator, loaders)

  • Prior experience in land clearing or logging operations

  • General knowledge of tree felling
